Baseball Tracker for Coaches and GameChanger: what each one does

The two products do different jobs. GameChanger’s baseball page describes an app that “offers baseball scorekeeping, stat tracking, team management, and live streaming” [1]. Baseball Tracker for Coaches is built around one job: turning a video of a full game into a pitch-by-pitch log, timed to that video.

Using one does not stop you using the other. This page is written by Adelyons Software LLC, the company that makes Baseball Tracker for Coaches. We are not affiliated with GameChanger.

• Scorekeeping: “Keep track of the game with our intuitive digital baseball scorebook.” Its page also says that “any confirmed team member can score a game” [1].
• Stats: “tracking more than 150 stats for each game, player, and season”, with batting and pitching spray charts by game and by season [1].
• Play-by-play and box score, “available in app and on the web” [1].
• Live streaming: “using a mobile device mounted on the backstop fence, or by using an external camera like GoPro or Mevo” [1].
• Video clips: “Clips of every play are automatically generated on games that are streamed and scored” [1].
• Team management: scheduling events, managing the roster, in-app messaging and RSVP [1].

Its softball page lists the same kinds of feature for softball teams: a digital softball scorebook, live streaming, and “more than 150 stats for each game, player, and season” [2].

You film the whole game from behind the plate and upload the file after it. Nobody enters pitches during the game. Most games are ready in 10 to 20 minutes. What comes back:

• Every pitch in game order, each one timed to the video.
• Pitch type and AI-estimated velocity for each pitch.
• The count for each pitch, and how each at-bat ended.
• Pitch counts for each pitcher, with average and top estimated velocity.
• Filters by pitcher and by inning, and a video that jumps to the pitch you click.

The sample game shows the finished screen on a demonstration game with made-up players.

• It does not stream games live.
• It does not keep score during the game, and it does not produce a box score.
• It has no team messaging and no RSVP.
• It does not chart the game live. The log comes after you upload the video.
• Its velocities are AI estimates from video. They are not readings from a radar gun, and it does not replace one.
• It does not know names on its own. Names come from your roster, matched by jersey number.

• A digital scorebook, live streaming, a team schedule and messaging: those are features GameChanger lists on its pages [1].
• A pitch chart for each pitcher, from film, without anyone charting in the dugout: that is what Baseball Tracker for Coaches is for.
