Pitch charting for college programs

A tracking system installed at your home field covers the games played on that field. A fall scrimmage on a practice field, a midweek game on the road or a game at a park without a system can end with no pitch data at all, unless someone kept a chart by hand.

A phone or a camera behind the plate goes to any field. You upload one video of the whole game and get back a pitch-by-pitch log, timed to the video: pitch type, AI-estimated velocity and count for each pitch, with pitch counts and rollups for each pitcher. Most games are ready in 10 to 20 minutes.

The numbers are AI estimates from video. They are not readings from a radar gun or TrackMan. It replaces the hand-kept pitch chart, not your velocity hardware.

Film of an opponent is uploaded the same way as your own game: one video of the whole game from behind the plate. The log comes back with the pitch type, the estimated velocity and the count for each pitch, and you can click any pitch to jump the video to it.

Names come from a roster, matched by jersey number, so players who are not on a roster you have entered may appear without names. Film, rosters and stats are kept separately for each team you set up in the portal.

One subscription covers the program. The coach who owns a team in the portal can give other people view access to that team, from the team’s access screen:

• Access is granted by email address, one person at a time.
• The person needs a Baseball Tracker account first. If no account uses that email, the grant is refused and says so.
• It is view access. The people you add can see the team’s games and analytics.
• The screen lists who can view, and you can revoke anyone’s access there.

A new coach account’s first game is free, with no card, so you can see a game of your own before anyone asks the business office. The Coach plan is $39.99 a month or $129.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial.

Checkout is by card through Stripe, so a department or purchasing card works like any other card, and a receipt is emailed for every charge. • Look at the sample game. It is a demonstration with made-up players, and it shows the review screen as your staff would use it.
• Film one game of your own from behind the plate and compare the log with the video. Every pitch in the log is timed to the film.
• Your game video is kept for playback for 30 days and then deleted. The pitch log, stats and rollups stay in your account.
• It does not produce a box score and it does not chart the game live.
